Guy Story Brown, Publisher of Laureate Books, received his Ph. D. from the
Institute of Philosophic Studies at the University of Dallas. He was head of
the U. S. Information Agency’s international book publishing, library, and
English teaching programs from 1982-1988, where he arranged for the
publication of the Federalist Papers in Russian, Spanish, Hindi, and other
languages, and led negotiations between U. S. publishers and Soviet, East
German, and Chinese publishing authorities. Brown received the Gutenberg
award at the Frankfurt International Book Fair, and was awarded the Ivan
Fedorov Medal by the Soviet government and the Benjamin Franklin
Distinguished Service medal by the U. S. Government Printing Office. He
received the Distinguished Service Award from the J. W. Fulbright Board of
Foreign Scholarships in 1992 for his work as head of the international
Fulbright scholarships and academic programs. His Calhoun's Philsophy of
Politics: A Study of "A Disquisition on Government" was published by Mercer
University Press in 2000. Other works, "Shakespeare's History: Introduction
to the Interpretation of The First Part of King Henry the Sixth,"
"Shakespeare's Prince: The Interpretation of The Famous Life of King Henry
the Eighth," "Shakespeare's Philosopher King: A Reading of The Tragedy of
King Lear," and "The Way of T. S. Eliot: Appreciations of Early
Masterpieces," are forthcoming. |
